2. The photographer wanted to show more of what was going on in Iraq, so he4 decided to photograph more of the horrible things.
3. The young girl in the photo was in a car, with her dead parents and 5 other siblings. Her dead parents were in the driver and passenger seat and the car wouldn't stop moving until it finally stopped at a curb. The children were injure and covered in all sorts of blood such as their own and their parents.

Fashion Photography

1. The models neck was elongated and her neck and face were made to be a bit skinnier. They also made her eyes bigger and also made her lips appear bigger. One other thing they was add more makeup to the makeup she already had on.

2. Her legs were elongated along with her neck. She was made to look skinnier and slimmer and her hair and skin was lightened. With her face, they mad her eyes bigger, lips bigger, and nose thinner. This shows what peoples perception of beauty is and how messed up it is to see people that aren't naturally like this as ugly.

3. The model was made to appear much much thinner than she really was. They engaged her breasts a  bit and took away any blemishes on her body. They also added more hair on her head since she didn't have much.

4. I don't think it is ethically acceptable because it distorts peoples perception of beauty and make them feel bad about themselves and lowers some peoples self esteem. The models also end up looking almost like an entirely different person.

5. If only small minor changes were made to the photo where a lot more natural beauty was shown then I think it would be okay. But also if the camera made a mess up i think it would be okay to fix a camera or lighten guess up.

6. I think adding a bit more lighting and brightness to a photo is okay because sometimes a picture can appear darker than it is. I also think fixing any mess ups the camera made is okay.

7. fashion photography involves a lot more models and photoshop and making things look perfect and pleasing to the eye. Photojournalism is a lot more natural and captures things that go on around us or stories of people or objects without much photoshop.

8. Fashion photography distorts reality and perception of beauty and sets high unrealistic standards for young girls. Photojournalism is more real and can touch people in many ways and set realistic standards for many things.

9. We are being shown these videos to learn about the fashion photography world and how different it is and what is going on in that world and how unrealistic these models are becoming to look.

10. They aren't about guys because males aren't being changed as drastically and the females are being shown because they are trying to set the beauty standards higher and women are more exposed and put out there.

Portrait and self portraits

3 Tips
Framing
1.You could do it by placing your subject in a window or doorway, have them look through a small gap or even use their hands around their face.
Playing with eye contact
2. Have your subject focus their attention on something unseen and outside the field of view of your camera.
Backgrounds
3. Photographing your shadow is another way to do a self-portrait. Shoot early or late, when the sun is low in the sky. A light, stucco wall, a sidewalk, or any other simple background can suffice.

Environmental portraits
I chose this photo because it shows a man down this work in dusty room, showing realness and nothing fake because it is capturing his true self.
I chose this photo because it is showing the true joy of this man and the environment he is in. It is also very bright and look cheery.

Self portraits
I chose this photo because it captures the girls emotions and who she is just by on simple photo.
I chose this photo because i think its very creative how she used a slow shutter speed and moved her head to get a blur effect on one part of her body.

Casual portrait
I chose this photo because it is very bright and casual and not too much is going on in the background.
I chose this photo because it is very simple and casual and shows the girl in a semi blurred background.

Paragraph
I will shoot photos of my best friend that i think i could get really good pictures of, during the day outside with natural light. I will also shoot som edurin sunset to get cool effects and maybe even try and see if i could get a picture where she appears dark and you can see her silhouette.

American Soldier

A. The girl in Iraq shows the most powerful image because it shows what its like in Iraq and how things are over there.

B. The images show what he's been through and they show the hard times and the struggles of being in the army. It also showed the good times and he still got to see his family and friends.

C. The captions give a backstory and tell the true meaning of the photo and  bring the photo alive a bit more.

D. Ian was a high school graduate who joined the army because he wanted too help the country. He joined right as violence in Iraq was getting bad and would later be deployed to Iraq in 2008. He enjoyed time with friends and family before leaving and was sad to go but excited to do something great for the country. He experienced intense training and thought he wasn't going to make it through but he made it through even though he suffered from an old injury that returned. Fisher went up some ranks and was very happy to participate in training exercises that were just like the real thing. Ian suffered drug use and eventually turned himself in, not getting kicked out but pushed down a rank. He went to Iraq for a year and came back to his girlfriend and family, then soon married his girlfriend and was very happy.

E. It is usually in present tense.

F. 1. The sentences on average o=are 2 sentences.
2. They tell what is going on in the picture.
3. Who people are and what is going to happen next or before.
4. Quotes from people in the image about what is going on in the image.
5. Some captions do include quotes.
6. Yes some do have 4 sentences.

G. I think you can tell a story through captions because the image os there and seeing the image along  with a few sentences can really tell a great story.

H. Sometimes a story is great to read and create your own visuals in your mind.

Funny Captions

Uncle joe and Aunt Barb are in Utah for the Elderly zoom race, They were invited by cousin billy and are having a blast, coming around the fourth bend! Uncle Joe and Aunt Barb live in Texas' Home for the old in south Austin, they got here on a train and there are thousands of people watching with their bags of popcorn.

Grandma Jane is having a blast at the old folks....show...you can see in her face how ecstatic she is with her great makeup. She was invited by old cousin bobbly and is standing in downtown new orleans, her favorite place.

As you can see grandma jenny hates everyone but is smiling for us in this picture, while being here she's spit at the local monkey, glared at uncle joe and screamed at a donald trump cut out. WE had to basically force her to take this picture which was not an easy task...and resulted to dentures coming out and things got serious.

warm up

1. As i was looking through these images i felt a warmth as the wife was still alive and battling through breast cancer. When she died I felt a bit sad because everything was empty and she was no longer there.

2. I think that in these photos it shows the story of this husband and wife battle through cancer and how strong the wife was through the whole experience.

3. I think i could shoot photos like this, but i would feel like I'm invading my loved ones personal and private life.

4. I would tell him how brave he is for photographing this life changing experience of his wife going through cancer and not making it in the end. I would also tell him I'm sorry for his loss and that nobody deserves something so horrible.

Africa

1. I really like this photographers style and how he shoots natural things in nature, like animals and their surroundings. I also like how he gets up close to them to really capture the true meaning of the photo and the animals in it.

2.

3. This photo is my favorite because it shows a true relationship between two lions and it is very real and candid as you cannot plan this to happen. Its something you don't see every day and it is a touching picture.

4. I think this photo is balance because the lions are on each side of the photo and it look very pleasing to the eye.

5. Nick uses a modified lens that creates a softer look and a tilt shift to his photos.

6. He takes these photos to shoe the animals in a state of being and nothing drama filled or overwhelming. He likes his photos real and peaceful.

7. He hopes to show the beauty of the animals and nature because of what bad things are happening such as deforrestation and global warming.  He hopes that people will realise what they are doing and make a change to the world and save the planet and animals.

8. "Sub-Saharan Africa is one of the last places on the planet where one can still view multiple species en masse in the wild."

Black and White Photographers part 3

1. The first photo i saw of john gutmanns, was of two strangers standing in an erie setting. It looks very mysterious and i love strange and abnormal looking photos.

2.
I see circus performers all surrounding me.
I smell the freshly popped kettle corn.
I hear chatter amongst many people.
I taste the cool crisp air on my tongue.
I feel my heart beat faster as the clowns perform.
I see people gathering around a broken window.
I smell the dirt being tossed in the air as people gather.
I hear talk go confusion and wonder.
I taste the dirt in my mouth as it flies up in the air.
I feel nervous as to what the man is going to do.
3. It would be fun to create a poster for John Gutmann. I could include strange drawing that go with his style of photography and obviously his photos. I would like to make it on a large thick poster to include information about him and his pictures.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. Photographers are editing the photos too much and consumers and customers don't know what the truth is behind photos and what is real or not.

B. You shouldn't manipulate photos too much past the point of disbelief.

C. I think you could fix very small imperfections and if the photo isn't bright enough or too bright thou could adjust the brightness.

D. I think this is the most Unethical because it changed the looks of the women to make her look more beautiful to society. I don't like this because it can leave women and men self conscious and not liking their looks.

E. I think this is least unethical because it shows exactly what was photographed just slightly condensed to fit the magazine cover. I don't think it is as bad as the previous photo because it is not false advertisement or hiding something from society.

ISO

1. A higher ISO means there camera takes the photo at perfect timing an diets great quality.
2. A lower ISO will generally result in a higher quality photo.
3. A higher ISO will capture fast motion pictures better.
